8.2.8.1
Description. Non-reinforced concrete blocks can be used effectively as vehicle
barriers or to slow the speed of oncoming vehicles, as shown in Figure 32. The placement of the
blocks is shown in Table 14. These blocks can be cast in place and should be anchored to the
ground so that movement or removal is difficult. The cost for cast-in-place non-reinforced
concrete construction is about $200 per cubic yard ($260 per cubic meter), according to
"Building Construction Cost Data."
