STRUCTURAL STEEL
1. WORK INCLUDED: Structural steel roof beams and girders; roof fascia
framings; interior columns.

MATERIALS:
2.1 Structural steel:
ASTM A36-77A, of the sizes, shapes and lengths
indicated or required.
2.2
Columns:
ASTM A501-76.

Expansion Shields:
Fed. Spec. FF-S-325.
2.4
Fasteners:
2.4.1 Bolts and nuts shall be suitable for the use intended and shall conform
to ASTM A325-80a, galvanized.
2.4.2 Washers: Fed. Spec. FF-W-84A for lock washers.
Flat washers shall be
suitable for the use intended.
2.4.3
Anchor bolts shall conform to ASTM A307-80, galvanized.
2.5 Shop Primers: Shall conform to Fed. Spec. TT-P-641G for zinc-coated
surfaces, and TT-P-645 for uncoated ferrous surfaces.
2.6 Zinc Coating: Conforming to ASTM A123-78 for steel products, ASTM
A153-80 for threaded products, and ASTM A386-78 for assembled steel products.

Welded Electrodes and Rods:
AWS D1.1-81, Structural Welding Code.
