3.2 ECF Functional Diagrams
As illustrated in Reference 7, functional diagrams can be used to illustrate the functional
relationships and adjacencies of the components of each type of ECF. Diagrams for each
classification of ECF are provided in Figures 3.1through 3.3. Figure 3.3 illustrates the use of a
centralized truck inspection ECF and a commercial/vehicle ECF in series or alternatively, the
inclusion of the truck inspection facility into the commercial/vehicle ECF. These functional
diagrams are intended to illustrate the relationships encountered at each type of ECF. These
relationships can be modified based on installation or site-specific requirements.
