Batteries shall not be in the same room as the UPS modules.
f)
The UPS module shall not be located in the mechanical room.
g) Provide the correct number of power conductors as indicated on the
installation drawings.
h) Proper the proper number of shielded control conductors indicated on
the installation drawings.
i) Provide battery conductors/jumpers sized as indicated on the
installation drawings.
j) Indicate on the floor plans and one line diagram the maintenance
bypass switch.
k) The room containing the UPS module shall be ventilated and not air
conditioned.

One ventilation motor shall be placed over the UPS module.
m) Provide separate buses for the UPS input and by-pass supplies as
indicated in MIL-HDBK-1004/1.

Provide grounding detail for UPS/Generator/Main Service.
o)
The battery room is not to be considered a hazardous area.
p) Provide a detailed breakdown in the specifications of the
contractors responsibilities and requirements for UPS installation and start-
up.
q) Install an even number of positive and negative conductors in each
RGS conduit battery circuit to avoid excess battery voltage dip when battery
assumes load. Single polarity runs shall be in PVC.
r) Emerson UPS must always have a neutral conductor run with the by-
pass circuits.
s) The remote monitor has a circuit length limit of 500 feet from the
UPS module.

Miscellaneous Requirements
a) Hookstick operated equipment: The A/E shall check if ACTIVITY
personnel are available/trained to operate.
