SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Typically, engineers design waterfront mooring facilities for Mooring Type II.
However, in any given region a portion of these facilities must support
Mooring Service Type III to account for ships in repair or unable to sortie in
case of a major approaching storm. This report has outlined
recommendations for number and type of regional Heavy Weather Moorings,
regional environmental criteria, and design methods.
