 Acceptable Quality Marks: The Quality Mark (AWPB, SPIB) shall be
stamped on monel-metal tags and permanently affixed, in a bored recess,
on each treated pile midway between the producer's two brands.

Note: Pentachlorophenol is an acceptable preservative for treating foun-
dation piles; however, it shall not be specified or used in or under build-
ings to be occupied by humans or animals. Therefore any product in
which the preservative in the brand is identified as pentachlorophenol
(PA, PB, PC, PD) shall be REJECTED.
