n Combustion Chambers:
deformations
breaks
wear
corrosion
soot deposits
clinkers
ashes
excessive slag formations indicating excessive lining deterioration
depositing of an excessive amount of noncombustibles
n Drying Hearths and Grates:
warped sections
burned-out areas
n Exterior Settings:
settlement
cracks
broken areas
eroded and sandy mortar joints
