Leaking refrigerant or oil (indications of frequent or
continuous leaks)
Many breakdowns and repairs (check activity record)
Parts difficult or impossible to procure
Replacing or repairing parts is not cost effective
n Cooling towers:
Repair - Only minor repairs required
Replacement
Over 15 years old
Many or severe leaks
Heavy corrosion and deterioration
