CHAPTER 14
MEETINGS
14.1
General
The A/E shall attend all meetings specifically set forth and
scheduled in the Appendix "A".  ONLY THOSE MEETINGS SPECIFICALLY
LISTED IN THE APPENDIX "A" FORM A PART OF THE A/E'S CONTRACT.
Locations for meetings are as stipulated in the Appendix "A".
14.2
Meeting Types, Purposes, and Attendees
14.2.1
A/E Orientation Meeting
The purpose of the A/E orientation meeting is to initiate the design
effort by briefing the A/E's various designers on project specific
design issues, highlighting unique, unusual or special project design
requirements, and discussing special design criteria, problems or
constraints.  The meeting is also to confirm the A/E's familiarity
with the requirements of the Appendix "A" and the A/E Guide relative
to contract administration, design document format, etc.  Briefings
and discussions will be by various NORTHDIV technical consultants.
Accordingly, the A/E shall have in attendance at the meeting a
principal with contracting authority, the project manager, the cost
estimator, and the lead designer directly responsible for each
applicable discipline, including the architect, structural engineer,
mechanical engineer, electrical engineer, civil engineer and fire
protection engineer.  The meeting will entail one entire day for all
participants.
14.2.2
Specifications Briefing
The purposes of the Specifications Briefing are to highlight
differences in the preparation of government specifications versus
private industry, give direction on proper formatting and submittals
for the specifications, discuss unique project features affecting the
specifications, and to assure the A/E has the proper NFGSs to
initiate the specifications writing effort.  The briefing will be
given by a NORTHDIV specifications writer, will last approximately 2-
1/2 hours and may be held the same day as the A/E Orientation
meeting.  The A/E shall have his specifications writer attend this
briefing.
14.2.3
Schematic Presentation
(NOTE:  For MCON funded projects involving a Project Engineering (PE)
Submission, this meeting is referred to as the PE Presentation in the
Appendix "A".)
The A/E's project manager and project architect shall present the
schematic submission to NORTHDIV and other government personnel.  The
presentation shall entail one day.  In addition to responding to all
government review comments received prior to the presentation, the
A/E's presentation shall specifically address the following issues:
