dimensions, arrangements, elevations, locations referenced to a
column line grid system, type of foundation and foundation
obstructions.  Elevations may be given using any datum consistent
throughout the drawings so long as the chosen datum is referenced to
the true elevation.  Include the layout of all slabs, footings,
piers, grade beams, piles, caissons, pile/caisson caps, test
pile/caisson location, trenches, pits, openings, depressed and
thickened slabs, control/expansion joints, etc.  Reference schedule
drawings where appropriate.  Show special construction features,
sequencing and site conditions, such as de-watering, excavation
bracing, underpinning, expansive soils, existing structures, etc.
which have a significant impact on the design and cost.  Include on
the drawing all relevant design data (live loads), design methods
(stresses, applicable codes and soil bearing, rock bearing or pile
bearing capacity) and general notes.  Attachment 18C to this chapter
is a sample of design data, design methods and general notes for
incorporation on foundation plans.
b)  Framing Plan(s):  Include for all floors and roofs, showing
dimensions, elevations, column locations and numbering system, and
overall sizes of major members and components.  Elevations shall be
referenced to some finished datum such as top of steel, slab,
finished floor, concrete, joist, deck, etc.  Show the layout of all
beams, joists, stringers, purlins, slabs, decks, plates, grating,
control/expansion joints, reinforcement or special framing for
openings, location of splices, brackets, penetrations, sleeves,
embedments, bracing, weldments, etc.  Reference schedule drawings
where appropriate.  Provide continuous support at metal deck
perimeters.  Show special requirements such as temporary bracing,
shoring or forming, equipment clearances, travel distances for hoists
and cranes, etc.  Include on the drawing all relevant design data,
design methods and general notes.  Attachment 18D to this chapter is
a sample of design data, design methods and general notes for
incorporation on framing plans.
c)  Structural Elevations:  Show general sizes, location and
arrangement of all significant features of the vertical framing
system.  Include the layout of all columns, walls, beams, girts,
stringers, bracing, control/expansion joints, reinforcement or
special framing for openings, location of splices, brackets,
penetrations, sleeves, embedments, bracing, weldments, etc. showing
all dimensions and elevations necessary for construction.  Reference
schedule drawings where appropriate.  Show special requirements such
as equipment clearances, travel distances for hoists and cranes, etc.
18.4.2.2  Specifications:  Provide an outline of each technical
section appropriate to the design.  Identify the grade, class or type
of structural materials in the outline.
18.4.2.3
Submit the following:
a)  Basis of Design:  Expand on the discussion provided for the
Schematic Submission to include the following (NOTE:  If there is no
schematic submission, include discussion on all items listed under
the Schematic Submission and those listed below):
1)
Foundations:
A summary of the loads upon which the
