Initial Cost Estimate Procedure. This procedure
provides the steps for combining the cross-section, frame, and
installation costs that the analyst estimated in previous
analyses. Figure 41 presents a process chart and description of
the procedure.
9.8.1
Required Information. The following information is
required for an initial cost estimate:
a) Base unit cost for cross-section. This is the cost
per unit area of 1/8-inch (3-mm) thick annealed
glass.
b) Base unit cost for frame. This value is the cost
per unit length of a light (less than 1/4-inch (6-
mm) thick) aluminum frame.
